Hi SDN,

I am a newbe in SAP MI.

I have an SAP r/3 user id, for the first time i am trying to generate devic ID.

when i try to sync the client with this user id it displays,

1. synchronization started

2. setting up connection to sever ......

3. successfully connected to the server

4. processing of inbound data began

5. "server logon failed"

I could logon into R/3 using this uid, but failing from MI client.

Does somebody faced the same problem & solved it, help me in this regard

Thanks,

Sai krishna.

Hi Panda,

Sorry for the very late reply.

And it worked perfectly.

Thanks.

Hi Satya,

just a question to understand the problem a bit better.

Isn't that the J2EE sync (old technology), while current version uses ABAP sync (new technology)

Thanks, Andre

Hi Sai,

Can you please let me know the version of MI client and server you are using?

Also set the trace level to all and send me the log file in this address p_satyabrata@indiatimes.com.

Thanks

Satya

Hi Sai,

First of all, Welcome to MI!!!

Whenever the MI client syncs, it tries to connect to the MI Middleware (WAS on which MI is configured) and not your backend (R/3 system).

So when you try to perform sync,

1. The user id of the MI client must be present on the MI middleware, &

2. The sync password entered on the MI client must be the same as the password used by that userid to log in to the MI Middleware.

Hope this helps.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

I tried using the same user credentials through web connecting to the server & it is sucessful. like http://servername:50000/me

This mean the user credintials exist in MI middle ware right..

Hi,

Please check your settings whether you have configured them correctly like the host, port, client etc.

Also set the trace level to All and check whether you get some more detailed information there. This will help you track the problem.

Hi Nameet,

The MI client could connect to server but could not authenticate the user.

See the difference in point 3 & 5 in the first post.

Hi Sai,

In this case check if the user has the authorization to perform a sync. He ideally needs to have the S_ME_SYNC authorization to perform a successful sync.

Check this & let me know.
