No DIP profile found in the service order

Hi,

I have created a notification and service order using options IW51 and IW34 resp. The confirmation for the service order has also been completed successfully.

Now when creating a billing request using DP90 I'm see an error stating "No DIP profile found in the service order xxxxxxx"

Any clue on what is to be done???

Hi

In service orders, the DIP profile can be found in the Control tab under the subheading Control of resource-related billing and creation of quotations. It can also be defaulted in SPRO for the service order type in the following path

-> Plant Maintenance & Customer Service

->Maintenance & Service Processing

->Maintenance & Service Orders

->Functions and Settings for Order Types

->Credit Limit Checks, Sales Document Types for Service Orders

Hi Nadarajah,

If you are trying to do resource related billing, then you need to maintain DIP profile.

The Dynamic Item Processor (DIP) profile defines and controls resource-related quotation and billing for service orders and sales documents. It may be maintained in either the Customer Service or the Sales and Distribution section of the IMG. The DIP profile allows flexible determination and translation of actual labor, material, and other costs into sales materials for appropriate pricing and billing.

There transaction code for creating DIP profile is ODP1. You can copy one of the existing profiles and modify according to your requirements.

Now, this DIP profile needs to be attached to your service order to pull in the costs, and run the resource related billing.

You can go through SAP Best Practices-Project w/ Fixed Price and Time/Matl Billing (J46): Configuration Guide for further details.

Thanks
