Change Request Flow In a Three System Landscape --- PLZ DO REPLY

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I am new to SAP and have this doubt;

Suppose we have a three system landscape with DEV, QTY and PRD systems in it.

Say we create a new change request in DEV system. So to transport it to QTY we will release that request from DEV using T code se01 .

Now the request will come in QTY systems queue and we will login to the appropriate QTY client and import this request into the QTY system.

No my basic doubt is, after the testing in QTY how do we move this request to PRD system ?

Do we again release this request from QTY system using se01 or we need to go at the OS level in the QTY system and manually add this change request in the PRD system buffer ? ( Please send if any reference link is there)

I will really appreciate any info in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Mandeep

Hai Mandeep,

First Thing,

-->If you are maintaining a common transport directory, the released change

request will be exported in that common transport directory..

--->Now you just enter in to the server(which is Transport Domain

Controller).

--->In that go to Import Overview, now your QA server has one import req.

you just click the req. and import that req..

-

>Now if you want to import the same req int o PRD.,Enter in to PRD

server.Go to tcode STMS_IMPORT, In the top go to

Extras>Other req.>add..click this and add that particular

req.that you want to import in to PRD server..

--->select that req and import that req...

You have three system landscape, the request will be release from DEV to QAS, once you release the request from the DEV then the request is added in the route, so you can import into the QAS to check the scenario once you did not find any problem in the scenario, then you can import into the PRD without releasing from the QAS.

Hi,

once the request is confermed in quality system request will be ready for importing into PRD system i.e, once we add to the queue of the quality system the CR will be ready for adding in to the prodution system

there is no need to again releasing the transport request to PRD system

Hello,

Once the transport is imported into Quality system it will get automatically added to production import queue provided a delivery route is set up between quality and production.

Hi Samrat,

I am still not very clear. Here is my doubt.....

Onec i release a CR from DEV system it will come to the queue of QA system and then we need to import that CR into the QTY system.

Ok so now after approving the request in the QTY system .....

What exactly I have to do to move that CR to PRD ? Please tell me the exact steps which I have to do.

Hello mandeep,

So you your QA queue (stms_qa) in your quality system. After approving the transport in quality you need to just go to production import queue and import the transport into it. Otherwise you can schedule an import job for the transport import.

Hello,

Once you release the request in DEV , It is available to import in DEV, QTY, PRD.

You want to come that CR via some other systems like QTY , PRD.

Other wise you can import directly in to PRD also.

Okay, come to the point.

Once you import in to the QTY, again just login to PRD

Run tx. "stms_import", you will be able to see the CR in that list.

Select that CR, click the Truck button.

( Routes should be configured, as Ruchit said)

I hope this information will help you.
