hi all sd gurus,

i just want to know how do we find whether plant is manufactruing plant or a depot...while customization.

manufacturing plant where goods are produced. factories are mapped as manufacturing plants

depot plant is where goods are stored. Godowns are usually mapped as depot plants.

but one thing in the plant that we deifne in SD is not a maufaturing plant?

and In bussiness Blue print how do they mention?

They will mention it as Depot plant in the description. Totally dependent on the clients requirement.

That is a generalized definition of a plant. Since even manufacturing plants have storage locations.

In India tax laws are different for manufacturing plants and depot plants.

In SAP, we can identify Depot & Plant based on CIN configuration (in Indian environment). In plant setting in CIN, if the Check Box is ticked, it refers to Depot & in Depot, in Indian environment, RG23D register is maintained. However, Manufacturing Plant can also play the role of Delivering Plant, based on the configuration at Enterprise Structure level, bu establishing the relationship of conbination of Sales organization & Distribution Channel to Plant. Manufacturing Plant maintain RG! register in Indian environment.
