Hi all,
I have 3-4 PPM's per product,
that differs in production times or components used.
Can someone tell me how can I optimize the selections of PPM.
PP/DS does not interested in optimizing the correct PPM,
rather it solves inside PPM's by modes.
But I want to solve first the correct PPM according to the costs, delays, prod. time etc. An then scheduling comes.
How can I do that, SNP, CTM???
Mehmet
Hi Mehmet
As you are Absoutely right PPDS solves by modes
if You have different input Component then the production version have to be created in ECC. CIF as PPDS PPM and Convert them into SNP PPMs where you can actually Select PPM by Cost , Priority etc using Optimizer
Try Also REM Heuristic In PPDS it Picks Up the different Production Version(Please test it Extensively Before Use)

Thank you Rajan and other friends,
Does SNP Optimizer or CTM optimizer solves the problem?
I have 2 different PPM's,think that
for one group of machines, I have one BOM and
for other group of machines I have different BOM.
The problem is, thet have the same priority, the system have to look at both the components to supply, and the resource utilizations to decide which one is the optimum? It is the same for the whole system.
Then I may use PP/DS for setup optimization.
Can anyone answer how to solve?
Mehmet -
If the PPMs have the same priorities then the next thing that CTM takes into consideration is transportation lane priorities. As CTM is based on PPM priority and T-lane Priority.
The following link in CTM might help you

Hope this helps.

U can plan ppm / pds selection , when u run snp heuristic or snp optimizer

Hi Mehmet
Let us try to understand your problem you have to prepare Product A which can be made on 2 work center WC1 and WC2 for which we have made two PMMs , PPM1(WC1) and PPM2(WC2) they have two Different Input Component B1(PPM1) and B2(PPM2),
Now if i use SNP Optimizer without giving the priority the system will randomly Pick one of the PPM let Us say PPM1 and start Planning and load the WC1 if it not able to meet the date the system will search for the WC2 which is not loaded that is second PPM2, If still it is not able to meet the date it will leave the Plan unfullfilled.
Do let me know for any further Clarification

Hi Rajan,
Let us go on further in your example,
Think that it's multilevel issue,
Component B1 is in stock (or easy to produce)
but WC1 is fully loaded,
Component B2 is not in stock ( or hard to produce)
but WC2 is empty.
How will the system make the optimization, will it take into account
the delay cost, production cost, capacity utilization and
exactly WHERE should I place this, SNP or CTM,
in terms of optimization between versions?

Hello Mehmet -
Look into PPM priorities. Assign the priorities to them. also try using PP/DS CTM. that way ppm priorities will be taken into account.

Hi
Please explore in CTM
CTM may address your requirements
