hello gurus,

I need to know what version of the JRE is compatible with the Portal. There should be OSS notes about this, or in any Portal installation guides. here i want to know what is the latest version of JRE.

could you please suggest me.

points would we awardable for good suggetions....

Hi

You can serch on google.com and http://java.sun.com the letest version .i think it will Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0.

Do you mean the actual JDK on the engine or in the browser client? For the engine 6.40/7.0 the JDK must be the most actual one from the 1.4 family (1.3 and 1.5 are not supported) Check SAP note 723909 for further information.
