I am installing NetWeaver 2004 and I keep getting the Error.

connection to the database host failed (x_server might be down)

Has anyone seen this error before?

Hi,

check if the XServer service is running (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services). If not start it and resume the installation.

If your problem is not this trivial, do a search for "X_server" on the SDN Forums and you'll get hits of threads where in-depth problems related to X_server are discussed.
