hi,
commaon distribution channel and division are used when a particular customer o are a part of more than one distribution channel and division , then instead of creating multiple master records for the same customer in the diff dist.channel or division, we create a particular customer master in a particular dist.channel or division and give that dist.channel and division as reference dist.channle and reference division to the remaining dist.channel and division to which the customer is a part.
u can only use the customer master with the reference dist.channel and division u cant make any changes to that master data, any changes can only be amde in the reference distchannel and division.

Define Common Distribution Channels
T.Code: VOR1
The master data shared by several distribution channels applies to conditions and customer and material master data.
This helps you minimize the cost of creating and maintaining the master data.
You can also update statistics for each distribution channel and division without creating the master data for the different sub-areas of the organization.
Define Common Divisions
T.code: VOR2
The common master data across various divisions refer to the conditions and the customer master data.
You thus minimize the effort of entering and managing master data.
In addition, you can extrapolate your own statistics per division without having to create master data in the different organizational subareas
