Synchronization between repository of CS & abap part of SAP system

Hello sapers,

in our 3 tier landscape we have one Content Server.

If any of you is aware of :

1. how to synchronize content server repository (document in Max DB) with corresponding link in SAP system (Oracle). And accordingly how we should make backup of our system (at least DEV system with CS).

2. how can I look into CS and understand which documents are in It (besides

scmsmo transaction)

3. is It good to have just one CS for 3 systems?

From the MAX DB point of you how that repositories are identified?

Any help in this questions would be appreciated,

best regards!

It's like with every system connected to a landscape - to stay consistent, you need to copy the full landscape, not just the "source "system.

Since various formats can be stored in the CS and CS does not "know" what format in which LOB is stored, you can't look directly into the database to find out, what is in it.

CS has a table "CONTREP", there you can see, which logical repository is connected.

We have a separate CS for test + production and we copy them if we copy the production to test/qa.

Markus,

thank you very much for answers, but

Is still not clear concerning the 1 st question.

For example I have DEV system and CS connected to It.

DEV has Its own oracle DB.

I have to back up both of the systems in parallel (or I can do It separately)?

During online backup CS still take documents?

How can I be aware for sure that any document from CS has Its link in DEV system (for example after crash of DEV system)?

Best regards!

to keep the system in sync and consistent they should be backed up together at the same time so in case the system crashes you have a consistent state between the two.

Yes - sure

You can't beside the fact of taking backup synchronous.
