Dear All,
What are the Common or possible Question will be facing in Interviews in Tranpotation and Monitroing... For eg: if will check DB02 what we will check and what steps we will take etc... or ST04 what we will do.
2) What are the Steps to Create Transport Group and its Advantages.

SNB
Dear All,
First of all i will be very very Thankful to all of you for Downlaoding the Valuable information for learners.

Hai,
Go through this.....
1. What is transport domain?
A transport domain comprises all SAP Systems jointly administrated through the TMS(domain controller).
2. What is transport group?
Group of SAP systems which are having common transport directory.
3. How do you configure the TMS?
You must define which R/3 Systems in the system landscape should be combined in a transport domain and which R/3 System is to be the transport domain controller
Refer Xerox book

4. What are the transport routes?
A route between any 2 SAP systems in a land scape. Can be a consolidation or delivery path.
Consolidation between development and quality
Delivery from quality to production
5. How do you do the transports?
The transport routes are used to define in which target system
You want to consolidate and deliver change requests.
Transport request will be released in the source system and are imported in the destination system.
SE09 and SE10 are used to release the Transport request
STMS used to import the request.
In OS level use program tp.
Syntax tp import <SIDXXX> <SID> clientXXX ux
6. What will happen during the export process?
Files will be created in the OS level in the transport directory
R - data files
K - control files
transport directory usr/sap/trans/data
usr/sap/trans/cofiles
7. What will happen during the import process?
Datas will be imported in to the database. Get in to usr/sap/trans/bin
Syntax tp import <SIDXXX> <SID> clientXXX ux
8. What type of files are created duing the export?
R - data files
K - control files
9. What are the problems usually occurs during the transport and what is return cods?
Refer book.
0 succ
4- warnings
8 error
above 8 different types of errors
10. How do you configure transport profile?
The transport control program requires a transport profile that contains information about
establishing the database connection for all R/3 Systems in the transport domain. TMS generates and manages this transport profile as a part of the transport domain configuration. You do not have to adjust the transport prof ile using operating system functions.

Hi Shankar,
the possible question on "Transportation" are ..
1) are transports client specific?
2) How do you, do a cross system transports? [ie, tranport request b/n systems which doesn;t have any transport route defined]
3) major steps in tranporting a request?
4) what are the common errors you will be facing, while doing a transport ?
5) what is transport group, tranport domain & domain controller?
if you real time exp'ce on that, then..
wht is the approval procedure?
how do you handle day to day transport request?
regarding monitoring..
1) commonly used t-codes for monitoring..
DB02 - is used to view the status of data file, based on the % of free space, wht u have extended the tablespace or create a new tablespace. using detail analysis, we can identify the fast growing tables and accordingly increase the tablespace & plan for backup & archival.
ST04, - we will get the memory utilizations. based on the percentages, we can decide the buffer utilizations [increase the buffer sizes], thru "detail analysis", you can see the expensive SQL queries [which can be tuned] etc.
more on this, command, search in help.sap.com
regards,
Rajesh
