Scheduling of planned orders in SNP heuristic planning

Dear All,

I have a demand (100 PC 20.07.07) for a location product that is relevant for inhouse production. In the PDS there is one Input Product that is relevant for external procurement and the planned delivery time is 90 days. The multilevel heuristic run creates for the location product a planned order for 100 PC on 13.07 without taking into account that the Input Product will not be available for production. For the Input Product SNP created a purchase requisition with availability date 9.10.07.

Is there a way to take the planned delivery time of Input Products into account for the scheduling of the planned orders.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Arvid

Thank you very much, I'll try it with CTM or use an alert monitor.

Hi Arvid,

Unfortunately the SNP heuristics planning does not take into account the resource/component availability.

It plans one product after another independently, based on their low-level code, so first - the finished goods are planned, they created dependent demand - then the raw materials have shortage and are planned later (as they have higher low-level code). But if the component is unavailable at the time of the demand - the planned order is not changed.

This is how the heuristics works and the results you got are pretty much expected.

Now, you can do:

- of course you can move away from the heuristics planning, but this is not a simple decision of course

- you can use alerts to show you the supply shortage of the components. Based on that, the planner can manually reschedule some of the planned orders. This can be useful, if you don't have many of them.

Best,

Mikhail

there could be a few possible reasons...

check whether there has been a low level code determination. LLC decides the planning sequence. Anyhow run this for good measure and rerun your heuristics

Supply Network Planning -->Planning --> Supply Network Planning in the Background --> Determine Low-Level Code

also check what your SNP strategy is set to?Create an order for say 09.10.07 and see what is the effect of this. is your component still being pushed forward?

Also check your PDS to see what is the relationship of the component.
