Hi,

Go and execute , where we get as :-

JControlExecuteBootstrap: error executing bootstrap node [bootstrap] (rc=66) . This means there's problem executing the bootstrap process which synchronizes binaries from the DB. This usually happens when the DB is not online. So, first make sure if the DB is online before you try to start the server.

In addition, you might also want to see what is the status of the XServer service (in Windows services) - it should be started as well...

To start DB, do one of the following:

- Go to SAP MMC, and click the blue Cylinder (It should be first bracnk right under your Instance P33) this will open de database tools in the right pane of the MMC. Next click you DB instance icon to bring it on-line.

OR

- Download the SAPDB GUI from SAP and install these tools. The SAPDB GUI gives you more management features than the MMC plug-in, but the start/stop process is the same.

Friends,

I have few things to share, this problem is exist in all my ECC 6.0 systems where we have performed system copy , though ABAP system running fine after database SID change system copy method, i am not able to see these j2ee process table in MMC. It is happening for all those servers where system copy performed from other system.

Is it something to do with OPS$ mechanism.

Is there any note for post system copy OPS$ users creation.

friends,

I have found the reason for the same , as i have used normal system copy menthod for ECC 6.0 java+abap system , abap engine is working fine,

but java j2ee process table is missing .

Now for abap+java system copy only happenes through SAPINST and not old controlfile change procedure

Ajju,

I would suggest you to reinstall the central Instance or central services Instance seperatly. I have encountered similar problem before in my soultion manager system. The solmon system missed in MMC snap-in and later after re-installing the central instance i got it back. In your case u can try with central services instance. However u replicate this scenario in a demo system and later perfrom the same in the production

Sorry but I am not agree with solution provided by Anand .

To preoceed further please check the :

1 ) Note 877795 - Problems w/ sapstartsrv as of Release 7.00 & 6.40 patch 169

2 ) Update sapstartsrv.exe

Even i dont think reinstallation is an issue , because my system is working fine except java side , and i am only not able to see any process under j2ee process table in MMC , even i dont know whether j2ee is win my working in my system.

May be it is working and not getting reflected in MMC.

But is this is the case then there are 2 services running fine with 00 and 01 instance number as a normal system have. I really doubt may it is profile level where the problem could be . funniest thing is when i restart system all startup logs get updated but not under j2ee folder.

even sapstartsrv will recreate service which already exist. what difference it would make.

How can i check my j2ee side might be working?

even SAP is not able to proceed as i have opened connection to them.

Hi rane,

this problem has simple solution check if your system is responding to the URL

http://<server>:<port>;

then this problem is due to services then you need to restart the <b>SAP services</b>

this should solve your problem

in many of my installtion i used to do this when ever j2ee process are missing try once and let me know if you still face the problem

Hello Ajju ,

Read the thread carefully I have already mention how to trace the log files & how to monitor J2EE using JCMON .

Hi,

1) Goto <b>usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run\sapstartsrv.exe</b>

2) Click on <b>sapstartsrv.exe</b>

Specify SID, Instance number, J2EE profile path and click on ok.

Then you can be able to see java instance details in MMC

kanthi,

I have seen this solution before what i would like to know is does it affect anything on ABAP side , as it is Production site i dont want to take restart after executing sapstartsrv.exe. Also kindly let me know what exactly it will do , does it create some services or after executing i would be able to see j2ee process table in MMC.

It doesn`t need restart.

I think it does produce some errors , i have just tried it in one of my server where 2 services were running and java instance also was running. When i performed the same , the second service got deleted and entire SAP got down.

How to recover from this scenario first , i should not touch production by this solution

Dear Ajit ,

Before proceeding to add fresh SID into MMC , please confirm that JAVA is up and running .

Please hold this activity ( As you are working on PRD ) & I am not sure this will work for you .

Santosh,

But what about my TST system , i am not touching my production system.

In TST there were 2 services sapTST_00 and sapTST_01 both instances were running fine. Just to see effect of SAPSTARTSRV.exe i executed the same

Given SID , instance no 00 , startup profile as H:\usr\sap\XI6\SYS\profile\START_DVEBMGS00_cyxi

username as devadm and password.

It thrown some error but after that SAP mmc suddenly went down and now only once services sapTST_01 in services.msc

I have created new services with same name sapTST_00 with same loginid

now both services are running but in SAP MMC my java instance is not viwable

that is 00

please help urgently

Check the status of the missing service using Windows Services ( services.msc)

SAPTST_00 & SAPTST_01 should be in running state .

SAPTST_00 & SAPTST_01 and SAPOSCOL should be running to view instances in MMC!

Former Member

yes all 3 services are running including the one which i have created sapTST_00

using startup profile.

But in MMC no abap instance is viwable 00 is not viwable

Santosh,

MY sid of test system is XI6.

I have executed sapstartsrv.exe and given username sidadm (xi6adm) , and startup profile as START_SCS01_cyxi

( out of 2 profiles START_DVEBMGS00_cyxi and START_SCS01_cyxi )

as found in all other systems now there are 2 services running

SAPXI6_00 (which got created after sapstartsrv.exe ) AND SAPXI6_01

still SAP mmc shows only one instance

under SAP SYSTEM node --> XI6 --> cyxi1

( In normal condition cyxi0 will contain msg server and enq server processes

and cyxi1 will contain msg server , disp+ work , igswd.exe under process list.)

I hope you got my exact situation.

please help at earliest as system is still down.

I only wanted to know SAP was up and running and i executed sapstartsvr.exe what effects it has produced that my service SAPXI6_00 got deleted along with SAP came down.

what i did was runsapstartsrv.exe and goven startup profile as START_DVEBMGS00_cyxi so it created service SAPXI6_00 and in SAP MMC

cyxi0 containing msg server , disp+ work , igswd.exe .

Now my system is up and running.

Should we go for production site discussion now, or i should open new thread for the same..please let me know......

Hello,

Find in the task manager the jcontrol and jlaunch process, if this process exists your j2ee instance is up.

Other option is to use the trx SMICM and Start the j2ee instance with this trx.

j2ee folder exist but logs which u have refered are not getting updated with latest date even after restart of sap server,

also in java config tool instance id does not exist.

neither anything in j2ee process table.

Is it something to do with sapstartsrv.exe

Dear Ajju ,

Please check if you can access / monitor the JAVA system using JCmon :

\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGSXX\exe>jcmon pf=E:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile\SID_DVEBMGSXX_hostname

Check how to JCmon :

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/27/ff074152aff323e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

Check the environment variable : JAVA_HOME present in SIDADM variable .

Santosh,

As many users are logged on to system i cannot take shutdown and as i am not aware of jcmon commands , i need to know what steps i have to follow , do i need to start java instance from here if yes? then using which option.

How would it affect running Abap instance, also if i start instance or few specified processes does it reflect to my SAP MMC, As i already mentioned i am also not able to instance under java cofiguration manager , under global config there is no server listed .
