Intermittent tRFC problem

Hi,

I am a BW consultant in need of some BASIS help. We are loading data into our BW system from SAP R/3.

About once every two weeks, we have a problem with the same extractor - it just hangs. Upon further research I see in the source R/3 system that the tRFC is just hanging there. When I select the hanging request and choose "Execute LUW", it runs perfectly with no problem.

Is there something in our BASIS settings that could be causing this to hang sometimes? Is there some program that should be scheduled to go and "sweep up" any hanging tRFC sessions?

Hello Tristan

Sometimes due to just large amount of data TRFCs fail.

One way to solve this issue is to distribute the data in short bursts.Also increase in number of dialog procsses in both R/3 and BW should help.

Also while extracting data just check if many ARFC* jobs ar getting crated in R/3 system?Let me know this.
