Hi to everyone:
Well I'm gonna install TREX 7.0 and I had read the guide to install, but I have 4 doubts:
1. The SID given to the TREX must be the different than SID of the BI(Netweaver), that I have installed in a SOLARIS system. The SID of the BI is BIT.
2. I had to change the host name of my machine, where I'm gonna install it, or of the server to install TREX????,
3. What's a blade system and what his purpose
4. In the post-installation I had heard something named heart - bit, can someone explain me that and where I can get the guides
I wish someone can help me,
Reward points.

Hello Joel ,
The SID given to the TREX must be the different than SID of the BI(Netweaver), that I have installed in a SOLARIS system. The SID of the BI is BIT --> Yes that is correct SID of the TREX must be different , after installation you have to configure TREX for the required System .

Hi ,
1) Yes, need to provide the different SID's
2) Yes,
3) The blade systems gives you performance and I/O throughput that can replace less-efficient rackmount servers for enterprise applications and high performance computing.
For more information plz. visit the following URL.

4) In cluster environment, this term will come.
In this for example there are 2 nodes are there, both are connected with cross cable , if one node fails , another node has to pick up automatically. To identify this process both nodes are configured useing some ping replies or repeat technology, this is called " Heart-Bit"
one server sends heart bit message(are you alive message) to the other and get the response .
Refer this,

I hope this info, will help you.
Note: Points always encourage me to reply !!
