hi ,
An ENDPROTECT command without a preceding PROTECT command is ineffective.
If the last ENDPROTECT is missing, it is implicitly assumed at the end of the text.
PROTECT .. ENDPROTECT commands cannot be nested.
If a second PROTECT command is recognized while another is active, the second is ignored.
If the text between PROTECT and ENDPROTECT is so extensive that it would not completely fit on an empty page,
then only one form feed is generated and the text is then output normally.
Thus, in this case, the section to be protected can be separated by a page break.

The lines to be protected lie between the two commands.

hi raviteja,
difference between protect and endprotect is whenever we want a particulalar text to be dispalyed in layout without break then we use protect-endprotect command field in script...
if there is a page break and there is not enough space to display all the text in that case since we have used Protect endprotect all text will get displayed to next page...
always a protect command has to be closed with endprotect...
hope thsi may be helpfull...
please reward incase usefull...
regards,
prashant

Hi Raviteja,
Protect-Endprotect is generally used in case of displaying item lists. While prinitng the data ,in case the data cannot apear on that page & if its getting truncated then in such cases you can use the PROTECT-ENDPROTECT.This will print the data on a new page and protects against page breaks.

protect begins a text block that should be protected against page breaks, and end protects ends this protection.
So protect and end protect have to be used together to enframe a text block to avoid it being broken when it encounter a page break. that way, this text block will always appear on one page.
