Hi Experts,
Have couple of queries as below:
1) What is difference between Roles and digital signature authorization group? Are these same or different?
2) Is there a 1 to 1 relation between the digital signature group and individual signature or 1 to many?
3) Numbering schema for doc type. (What happens when the number range for a particular doc type gets exhausted or reaches the maximum limit as defined?
4) In a DIR, can we insert the revision of the file we are attaching?
5) Multi language description for the doc type. Eg How can we get the German language typed out using the keyboard? Is it required to set at the time of login?
6) What is the use of the document distribution?
Thanks in advance,
Paddy
1. Role auth group is to access to the DIR, digital signature auth group is to approve the document
2. 1 to many from what I understand
3. No idea, never had it happen before, normally you plan with sufficient leeway, but its easy to test
4. Yes, but if you attach it separately both files will appear. Alternative is to have content versions of originals at different stages.
5. Its normally based on your login language.
6. Doc distribution is for formalised distribution of documents, particularly in those cases where you want the recipient to acknowledge receipt so you have the receipts stored in the system. You can distribute document internal in SAP or externally to non-SAP users where it will strip the attachment off and send the document with a fax coversheet to fax back.

Hi paddy,
For Q,
3. if the number range exhausts tthe two possibilities can happen
1. The system will through Exception for the exhaust.
2. The program may lead to short dum. by analysing the dump we can predict
the problem
4. The Description we can put german using a COPY PAST( The transalated Text should be availabe) functinality or we need to translate the text using transation SE63 from source(Ex English ) to Target Language(Ex German) in this case SAP system will suggest the transalation, if the translation is ok then ok, otherwise we should transalate with the help of Translators and copy the same .
