Create new client

Note that oss note 550894 is general guideline from SAP how to create new clients (these instructions may change for future releases).

Log on to the system at SAP-level.

0. Define the logical system which the new client is to represent.

Call the view maintenance (transaction SM30) with the view V_TBDLS.

1. In the Command field, enter transaction SCC4 and choose Enter

(or from the SAP standard menu, choose Tools Administration, then Administration Client admin Client maintenance).

2. Press the button display/change (most left button).

3. A warning will occur "The table is client-independent". Press the continue-button.

4. Choose button "new entries".

5. In Client, enter the client number (for example, 100) and name (for

example, test client for docu).

Caution: do not use numbers 000, 001 or 066. These numbers are reserved for SAP.

6. Fill all fields with correct values.

Note: for non-development systems (production and test systems) always make sure

that field "Changes and transports for client-dependent objects" has value

"No changes allowed". Also field "client-independent object changes" should

have value "changes to repository and client-indep. customizing not allowed".

7. Press the save-button to save the new client. The new client should be listed

in the overview of clients (SCC4).

8. To log on to the “new client,” enter SAP* for the user and PASS for the password.

Note that normally a client copy is performed afterwards from a source client to the created client.

To setup a new (empty) client a client copy from 000 with profile SAP_CUST or SAP_CUSV should be performed (see oss note 550894).

Client delete

Use transaction SCC5 to delete a client from an SAP system.

The use of an R3trans script to delete a client "is incomplete"

And not advised by SAP to be used. For more details and

Updates regarding client deletion see oss note 70643.

For additional details about client deletion with R3trans

see oss note 13391.

Usage of transaction SCC5 to delete a client:

Check that last backup completed successfully before

Starting a client deletion.

Log on to the system and in the client you want to delete.

Start SCC5 in this client.

Select the entry "Delete entry from T000" and

Press the Background button to run the client

Deletion in background.

Tablespace overflowing will not occur.

Saparch might fill if much information is deleted.

This is roughly the only thing to check when

running client deletion.

Note that it can make sense to reorganize the database

after deletion of a large client, because after client deletion

the number of rows in a table is decreased, but the total

number of extents of the tables will remain the same.

Reorganization is necessary to decrease the number of

extents for the tables.

Copy users from DEV to PRD

1. Login to the client in your DEV system from where you want to copy.

2. Execute scc8. Select the profile sap_user.

Specify the target system.

Click on 'schedule as background job'.

3. Specify the background server name i.e. the server name where your DEV system is available.

4. Click on 'schedule job' button.

Verify the things and click on 'continue' button.

5. You will have options to specify the start time.

Specify to suit your convenience.

You can see the log in scc3.

6. Login to the destination client and execute scc6.

Specify the request number which was created during scc8.

You need to specify only one request number. Other(s) will be taken automatically.

Click on 'Prepare import'.

7. Specify the target client and click on 'Import'.

Log can be checked in scc3.

Regards.

Hi,

1) create new client in SCC4

2) activate kernel user sap* by setting profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 ( if your system is new release )

3)login to new client with sap* and pass

4)copy the client with SCCL and appropriate profile

5)you can see the logs in SCC3

Time mostly depends on the profile you select and the hardware

thanks
