SuSe Linux vs Unix Deployment

We have built and deployed

1. iViews on the Portal

2. an Enterprise application(.ear) in the WAS

under UNIX(HP) environment.

We have used the configtool to add a start up parameter and used the Visual Administrator to deploy .ear file and do jco reference to the .ear file.

Now we need to do an implementation on EP6 SP12 under SuSe Linux server and we wonder if the deployment process are the same for Linux and Unix. Especially:

#1 The path to configtool and Visual Administrator the same

#2 The way to do deploy .ear file and do jco reference is the same.

Hi YuJan,

Yes, the process is the same under different environments. One of the benefits from SAP NetWeaver is that it provides process independence on OS and DB level. You can even have a cluster of nodes running under different OS.
