Run-directory (null) is missing starting sap

Hi

I am trying to start the sap system but i am getting this error:

Run-directory (null) is missing

Please create it and start again

Opening Database...

/usr/sap/MX1/SYS/exe/run/startdb: line 165: x_diagnose: command not found

I am suspecting that it could be SIDADM env:

PATH=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_14/bin:/sapdb/programs/bin:.:/home/mt1adm:/usr/sap/MX1/SYS/runU:/usr/sap/MX1/SYS/exe/run:/opt/kde3/bin:/opt/gnome/bin:/usr/games:/home/mt1adm/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/lib/ja

How can one edit and remove the semicolon and full stop (:.) between bin and /home. did anyone faced a problem like this b4.

Your help apreciated

Hi,

Don't you have errors at your OS syslog? Maybe problems with your DB Filesystem...

Please, put your OS, DB & Sap versions.

Hi,

What do you mean exactly with "<i>i removed some of the volumes</i>"?

Are you talking about LVM volumes? What was the volume you removed?

Again: Any error at <b>/var/log/messages</b>?

Best Regards,

JC Llanes.

Dear Mudzingwa,

-> Please run the command 'sdbverify' as root user (see SAP note 546737)

& check the results. If you will get errors, please post them.

-> Please update with output of the following commands:

ls -l /sapdb

ls -l /sapdb/data

ls -l /sapdb/data/config

/sapdb/programs/bin/xinstinfo MX1

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
