upgrade from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0

Dear all,

I am trying to upgrade from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0.

In the first phase only i am geting below error.i replaced r3trans to newer version.

still i am getting the same error.

where may be the wrong.

ERROR: The executable R3trans in D:\usr\sap\put\exe

is too old.

It needs a release date of

11.05.06 or later.

Please proceed as described in note 19466.

INFO: There is a J2EE server running also!

INFO: Please be aware, that the ABAP/J2EE

INFO: upgrades are (and must be) synchronized!!!!

INFO: Please check the upgrade manual for a detailed description!

Hi,

First take a offline backup of database and file system

Then try to upgrade the highest kernel version with the highest patch level

Now try going ahead with upgrade. I you need defined steps for kernel upgrade, do let me know

can we perform PREPARE phase during users logged on to the system?

Could any one tell what Precaution need to take care while upgrading to SAP ecc5.0 to ecc6.0.
