APO DP - assignment of forecast profiles to selections via background jobs

I am using APO DP V5.

In transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 - assignment of forecast profiles to selections - it appears that a background job should be able to set up new entries in the assignments.

But, if I run a forecast for a selection in a background job, I do not see any new entry in the list of assignments. If I run a forecast for a selection in interactive DP, then I <u>do</u> see a new entry in the list of assignments.

What am I missing in the background job run?

In the activity that you created for forecasting, which radio buttons did you select for generation of profiles and assignment?

I did not select these, as I believe these are ONLY relevant for strategy 56.

So maybe I'm answering my own question here! - is it the case that background jobs will only update the assignment of forecast profiles to selections for fcst strategy 56?

Hi Bob.

You are right. It would be possible however to use this feature to generate selections by putting the diagnosis group threshold at an unfeasbily low level and running the job to create selections. You could then update the assignment in the forecast assignment table.
