Trying to apply patch 20 to Netweaver 04

I am attempting to apply patch 20 to my Netweaver 04 installation, when I do only the Java component seems to be working.

I downloaded the netweaver sp20 stack on to the server, unzipped all of the SAR files into an empty folder and ran the SAPINST. When completed the JAVA components are upgraded but not the Portal on KM components. I unpacked the SAR files for all of the components. How do I point SAPINST to the portal and KM components the default behavior seems to be to upgrade the J2EE engine.

Thanks

Troy

Hi,

You need to patch the Portal Seperately once your Engine is patched. For that

you need to download the following SAR files from Service Marketplace.

Required SAR files :

EP6CTRL20_0-10003971.SAR

EP6KMC20_0-10002972.SAR

EP6PORTAL20_0-20000394.SAR

EP6TOOLS20_0-20000394.SAR

SAPINST20_0-10003971.SAR

Uncar these SAR files

Hope you know how to uncar these files.

After Uncarring SAPINST-CD folder will be generated.

Run the sapinst present within the SAPINST-CD folder.

This will Update your Portal Platform to SP20

Any queries revert back.

Do reward points if useful..

Srujana.

1) there is no JSPM for NW04, that's new with NW2004s

2) you cannot upgrade J2EE and EP/KM in one step.

You need to separate both installations into 2 sapinst sessions, using two different installation directories.

Troy, you need to run JSPM (Java Support Package Manager) to update Portal and KM. You can access it under /usr/sap/SID/instance/j2ee/JSPM. I;ve written a how to for a client if you would like me to send. Post your email address.

Please reward points. Best of luck.
