Step by step guide to connect Satellite systems to SOLMAN....

Hi all,

Can you provide a Step by step guide to connect <b>Satellite systems like (SAP CRM, SAP ECC 5.0 Etc..) to SOLMAN</b> and also what are the major config steps involved in connecting a satellite systems to Solman.

The connection is basically to monitor key performance issues of the satellite systems through Solman....

Need ur inputs on this...

Hi,

In a system landscape you can only add logical components. Please double click on the name of the logical components. You will arrive in the maintenance area for logical components. There you can add systems to your logical components.

Dear Subba,

Here are the steps to connect an Satellite System to Solman :

1. Create the Server / Database / System Component in transaction SMSY (

Landscape Components ) to define the system to Solman. In the System component ensure that you have generated RFC's to the relevant clients of the satellite system using the Generate RFC function.

2. Then in transaction SMSY itself , Create an Logical Component for the product amd product version of the system and assign the system to the logical component as per the logical role of the system like DEV / QAS / PRD.

3. Then Create an Solution in transaction DSWP and add the Logical component to the Solution in the Solution Settings.

Bingo. Here you are set to either setup system monitoring for the satellite system or to generate EWA's for the satellite system or to configure Service desk and all other related scenarios.

I hope these steps help you configure Solman.

I think there are no step by step giudes available at the moment...I will check these steps...is there any ABAP development involved in connecting Satellite systems to SOLMAN or is it only configuration...

Hello Subba,

There is no need for any ABAP development for connecting an SAP system to Solution Manager.

Just the configuration is needed. I would suggest you to download the SAP Tutor file from http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman

Path given below :

System and Solution Maintenance (SMSY)

This will help you in the utmost details to configure the system.
