Hi,
We are scheduling delete jobs in our environment as we are facing severe issues with regards to table space. We are doing this on a short term and parallely working at a long term archiving strategy also.
While scheduling delete job, i have a concern about the impact it would be having on the tables it is going to operate. What i mean to say is, should we be having a system downtime for executing the delete job or can it be run parallely while there are messages passing through the system. To put it more clearly, will there be any issues related to table locks so that the current messages get in to error state or get struck while the delete job is running. We are any how planning to run the delete job reducing the retention period month on month basis.
Please answer.
Regards,
Senthil.
