Dear Experts,

I am facing little bit issue in Backup, we having 220/440 GB Tape media, now our database size is grow up to 450 GB, so for some percantage of backup it is throwing me error.

So can i use mulitiple tape media for database backup. When we are scheduling through DB13.

Hi

As I can see you are using H/W compression for backups, and also the tape size mentioned in initSID.sap is 225GB.

You can try increasing the tape size values say to 250/275 GB and run

brbackup -k online option to re-caltculate the compression ratio.

Then can try taking the backup.

If it still does not work then the only way is to backup on to 2 tapes,Volumes can be menitoned when running through DB13, in case of single tape drive then brbackup stops at a point where someone needs to enter next tape for continutaion.

Also check SAP notes 19909,8707

Hope this helps
