Hi,

I have to transfer a class and characteristic from material master to a field in product master in APO. The user exit CIFMAT01 does not have any structure for class or characteristics.

Has anyone worked on any other user-exit?

Dear Shan,

You can use the following message types:

Characteristics and Characteristic Values

Most objects for variant configuration are dependent on characteristics. For this reason, characteristics must be transferred first. Characteristics with value hierarchies, long texts for characteristic values, or linked documents may lead to problems during transfer.

Message type: CHRMAS

Classes

When you use ALE to distribute classes, the characteristic assignments are also transferred.

Message type: CLSMAS

thanks guys..CIFing classes and characteristics is fine..

But I need to populate the Class and characteristics in Product Master in one of the tab. The user-exit does not have any structure to put in APO product master.

Hi Shan.

Cifing the class/chracteristics does put the classification into the product master.

No user exit required.

Hello Shan,

After transferring the classed/Characteristics through CIF, transfer the materials again.

Hi Shan.

Resend the integration model that contains the materials.

Use program RIMODINI in SE38 on the R3 side.

If you cant use the User exit,

You can also use MASSD or LSMW to load the fields in APO.

Dear Subra,

There are many fields in transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1. I hope you are not using up all the fields. You can use any of the unused field rather than using user-exit.

Naveen.

Hi Shan.

You don't need a user exit.

You can send the Material Class and characteristics via the Core Interface.

You only need to do it once.

Go to CFM1 and create the integration model selecting "Classes/Charact".

Select the class type material, run it and you should see the material classes in the integration model.

Hope this helps.

Mark.
