Plant in Sales order

Hi SD Experts,

The plant that is in the Sales order should not be changed by the Sales person. I know this can be acheived thru a user exit, but is there any way that this can be acheived. Like defaulting a plant by settings in the user profile. If yes, Please let me know how this is done.

well this can be done by restricting the access to this field to a Sales person, where in he can only view it but cannot change it. Pls refer to SHD0 t.code. We need to create a screen variant and assign it to a user.

Very rightly suggested by Mani. T.Code: SHD0 will serve your purpose.

Alternatively, already mentioned by you i.e user exit.

I created a screen variant, Regarding to assign it for a user, how is this done? Can you please give the detailed process right from the start? Thanks

Basis administrator only can assign the new transaction variant to the specific transaction codes for a particular user.
