product hierarchy for sale area

Do we need to maitain product hierarchy for sales area?If so how to do that, where in configuration

Hi

As you might be knowing Product hierarchy is in Basic data of Material Master

What you can do is define first three levels based on Sales Area and 4 level based on your further classification. if you need more levels you can do it in following way

Please check.

1) Created 4 custom domains ZPRODH1(4 chars),ZPRODH2(3 chars),ZPRODH3(2 chars) & ZPRODH4(9 chars)

2)Applied access keys to standard SAP data elements PRODH1,PRODH2,PRODH3 & PRODH4 to attach them to custom domains(refer above) instead of standard domains.

3)Applied access key to change standard SAP structure PRODHS to incorporate new 4 levels. (ZZPRODH1,ZZPRODH2,ZZPRODH3,ZZPRODH4)

But there is no way you can restrict entry as per sales area, because product hierarchy is field at MARA level

Yea I know that it is in basic data view, But when ever I am trying to maitian product heirarchy in the basic view and system respoding with messege "

<b>check the product heirarchy for each sales org</b>".

what does it mean?
