Queues

Whats the Objective of Ques, basically to run the high priority Message first in the Integration Engine!!!!

But these queues first need to hop around the Adapter Engine(Inbound into XI) at this point the messages won't have any priorities , all the messages come with the same priority, and same way once the messages are processed in IE they are going to send to the Adapter Engine (Outbound of XI), so having the prirority at IE will definitely defeat the purpose, how better to address this issue?

Pete,

Lets suppose you have an IDoc1 going to a write a file with file adapter. Now if you are sending 1000 Idocs normally everything will process one after other. In the mean time if you send a Urgent IDoc2 to XI and if you prioritize this as soon as the message receives it immediately process in IE and go further to AE. In IDoc1 everything goes one after another in the queue since you have prioritzed for IDoc2 it dont wait for the queue in Idoc1.

Simlarly in AE for Idoc1 if already 200 files are writing to the file adapter and then if Idoc2 file comes in AE then it will be 201 but not the 1001. Hope this gives some idea.
