Installing Netweaver and mySap

Former Member

Hello Everybody,

I need to install mySap, but the problem is that after installing SolMan 4.0 and using many features to configure the MaxDB database.

=> I can't configure Solman(do I need FrontEnd)

I don't really knows how I could install Netweaver 2004s and mySap ECC 6.0.

I checked the huge quantity of ínformation(seeing all the Guides that Sap could offer)

The problem is that every Guide links you to another.

It's like every road goes to Rom but which one is the short one?

Please Guys help me,

I have spend three Months installing Solman4.0 because of many buggy Bugs.

And I really don't want to spend this Summer doing that.

I used Vmware and the only version that works Java 1.4.2_09.

Database is MaxDB.

The Installation is on Central Server.

I'll be greatfull if you have a good tutorial for the first Step of Installation.

Please tell me how should I start.

Best Regards,

Kais

Hi

Use the below link, there are only 2 guides max you should closely follow -

for Planning & Inst. docs

1. Planning - This First Steps document helps you get started when you install or upgrade to mySAP ERP 2005.

2. The Master Guide - mySAP ERP 2005 provides important information about the installation sequence and the components to be installed.

Now go to this link

SAP ERP 2005 - Installation DocumentationSAP ERP 2005 Inst docs.[

for docs, choose the o/s (AIX/ Windows/ Linux) you want to use and just follow the guide.

Btw, if you are using VMWare you must have sufficiently large RAM in order to be sucessfull installation.

Hopefully SOlMan 4.0 will have no issues with recent SR 2, revert for queries

Hope this helps, good luck

Cheers

Hi

Thanks Senthil. It was helpful.

But before I could start with the Installation of NW and mySap.

Now, I'm trying to configure Solution Manager 4.0.

I succeeded to use FrontEnd to log me into the new Sap System(only with DDIC).

But I failed to use SAP* (Why?, I don't really know.)

Anyway, I got the privilege to use the transaction of the SapSystem.

Which is a giant leap for me.

Currently, I need to get a new License from SAP.

But the Problem is, that we forgot the password of the super-Administrator.

And the temporary license goes until 20. July.

My question is, how can we get a new password for the super-Administrator.

Should we contact SAP per Telephone.

Could sap send us a new password to the super-Administrator email.

I tried to use Forgotten Your User ID or Password?.

But it didn't works.

Kais,

Which client you are trying to login ? is it 001 .. you can login with the password which you gave while installation ( master password ) . You can apply new license from https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/licensekeys ..

I am not sure which password you forgot .. si it SMP password ? if yes you can ask your colleagues to reset it for you or contact SAP help desk and they will help you to resolve the isse.

Thanks

Prince

Hi Prince,

The Client is 001. login works fine but with user DDIC.

The Problem is that the User SAP* seems not to exist.

I tried according to some help in this forum to put in the DEFAULT.PFL this two line:

login/failed_user_auto_unlock = 1

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0

So I hoped that the SAP* user will work.

This Problem is not important instead of using SAP* I used DDIC(which have the same privileges as SAP*).

I wanted only to know how I could solve this problem.

My big problem is that in the MarktPlace I can't apply a new license because my colleagues have forgotten the password of the super-Administrator which is the only user that could apply for a new license.

The only person that knows that password have forgotten it.

So, I need to contact SAP, I suppose.

Regards,

Kais

Kais,

SMP is Service market Place , yes if he( super admin ) forgot the password you need to contact SAP to get the password. They might ask your customer id , installation number and /or user id ( s id )

Thanks
