Hi PP Experts,
I have a requirement which is as follows for Repetitive scenario
I need to do Quality check (for total carbonate (TC) value -- say will be in decimal)on one of the semifinished material and based on that result the operator controls the input temperature to the machine (say for example if total TC is 10 then the temp is say 110 deg). The requirement is that the TC for the semifinished material shud be captured and that information will be used by the operator in the control room.
Im trying to do this throug inspection character in the rate routing.
My Queries are
1. Do i woork with inspection lot?
2. How do I work with inspection characters?
Any suggestion as to how it shud be done wud be rewarded.
Thanks in advance
Vinod

Vinod,
Use transaction QS21 to create your Master Inspection Characteristic TC.
In present indicators choose Quantitative. Then enter the lower and upper specification limit. Then click on Qunat. data button and enter the lower and upper limits of the TC values.
Assign this in the routing operation (CA22) as per earlier mail.

Vinod,
No special configuration required for Inspection lot generation. Just follow the steps I had mentioned. Let me know where excactly you facing probelm while using MFPR. What error are you getting in MFPR ?

Vinod,
You need to assign the insp characterisc TC in the routing operation.
Enter the control key as PP04 for the operation in routing CA22.
Select the operation and go to Insp charac. Enter the MIC in this.
When you create Insp lot through MSPR the insp lot will have this charc.
Hope now it is clear. Reward points and clos this thread.

vinod,
As I had mentioned create inspection lots at each shift using MFPR. For this you should have a prod version, REM activated which you should have already done.
Assign insp type 13 in mat qm view and activate it.
Record results for each shift and pass it on to the operator.
Hope it is clear. reward points and close this thread.

Vinod,
For in-process inspection you could create manual inspection lots using MFPR transaction. There results could then be regularly recorded for the TC and passed on to the operator.

Your inspction lot will have this characterisc (TC). When GR is done and if insp type 04 is active the insp lot will be generated.
You record the results of the TC value in this lot.
This information could be provided to the operator. He could be may be provided with a report capturing the value of the TC for the batch in progress.
