Hi Experts

I am nwe to XI. Please clarify me on the following issues.

Q1)What are the IDOC's there in XI and for what they are used for?

Q2)How to trigger an idoc from R3 system?

Q3)From where can i know the idoc no i.e is created in a file to idoc scenarion?

All the IDOCs available in R/3, we can use it in XI also. What we need is, we will import the IDOC into R/3 and then we will use it

Triggering of IDOC from R/3, we will maintain in the partner profiles. While creating the partner profile in R/3, we have the option when it will be triggered....

Using the Tcode we05, you can see the IDOC..

Sent/Receive IDOC:

you need to do the following:

In XI

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3

IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.

In R3

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI

WE21 - define the port with the above dest.

WE20 - Partner profile type outbound/Inbound
