Hi all,
I was following one of the VC presentations to learn about the tool and this is my question:
After log in in the VC I don't see a traffic light with a description as Portal in the top right of the screen.
Where is the set up to see the portal field? or any idea how to connect to the portal from VC?
Thanks,
AA
Hi,
If you are using EP 7, then to access VC you have to use following URL
http(s)://<host name>:<port number>/VC
Note :- VC must be in upper case
Also you need an authorization of "VCRole"

Hi AA,
I guess what you read relates to an older VC installation, which was installed on a separate IIS server. From NW04s SP8, VC is an integral part of the portal usage type. However I would like to correct Santosh, the URL for accessing VC is:
http://<hostname>:<port>/VC (without /irj)

EP 7 onward VC is a part of installation with EP.For troubleshooting please see the following link

As VC is a Portal application, you don't need to "connect" to the Portal. You connect to a backend system to get data, but not to the Portal.
You'll find a lot of answers here: https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC
