Porblem in Data Archiving

Hi ,

I am in process of Archiving Equipments marked with deletion flag

object PM_EQUI .

Following a document , after executing write operation in SARA Tcode Its is not creating Physically any file.

Kindly suggest step by step guide

Hi Deepak,

Check the status of the archive object in SARA T-code. Is it green or Yellow or in Red ( This shows the status of the job)? Based on that you can also check the job status by clicking the job icon . Also check the spool output of the archive job (This shows the files that are archived).

SARA works as below,

WRITE - Executes a BG job to move the defined archive objects data at OS level

STORE - Writes the archived data in /sapmnt/<SID>/global/archive at OS level.

DELETE -It moves the archived data to a storage medium, and then the data is confirmed for deletion at R/3 level.

In your case, after ensuring that the archive job for the object PM_EQUI gets finished ( Green button ), check the /sapmnt/<SID>/global/archive directory for any physical file created during the archive time stamp. That should be the archive physical file.

Hi ,

Thanks to everyone who has replied , but still the Problem persists

Its not generating Archive File after write operation

During Delete Operation in Tcode SARA during Archive Selection

It shows no data found .

Steps I have Done :

1) Define Logical File Mapping to Physical File (/tmp/<Filename>) in FILE Tcode as well as in SF01 Tcode

2) Then In SARA -> Customizing -> Technical Settings -> Variant SAP&TEST

and SAP&PRD

3) Then Executed Write Operation -> Define variant of Equipments marked as Deletion flag & executed Write operation . Job Finished Successfully .

4) when I execute Delete Operation : During Archive Selection It says no data found

Hi Deepak,

Have you run the "prepare" program (RIARCEQV) for archive object PM_EQUI? This program checks to see if the equipment has already been flagged for deletion (another prerequisite), if so, it flags it as "archivable". You can also run report RIARCEQ1 to test to see if all of the archiving requirements have been met for equiments in your selection criteria.
