What are you trying to do with the scanner? Are you trying to replace keyboard input (such as a text box) with input from a bar code? In this case, you'd need a simple keyboard wedge for your bar code scanner. Careful design of your web page will be required to make sure that the user is on the correct text box or other data field when the bar code is scanned.
If it is an automated scanner, such as on a production line. Then the bar code data will need to go to either a database, such as SQL server (there are many commercially available products to perform this) Another option would be to convert the bar code data into OPC but this will not "store" the data, it will simply retain the last bar code scanned.
xMII is not event driven so upon no easy way to invoke a transaction based upon a data event like a new bar code scan.
Kumar,
Please provide a bit more detail as to what type of scanners you are referring to, what brands, what connectivity they offer (TCP/IP, Serial, etc).
The more info the better. Thank You!
