BI v7.0 Analysis Authorizations: 0TCAIPROV vs 0INFOPROV

Hi All!

We are converting our security from BW 3.x Reporting Authorizations to BI v7.0 Analysis Authorizations. My questions are as follows:

What is the difference between the following objects: 0TCAIPROV vs 0INFOPROV

Do you have to have both in order to restrict to certain InfoProviders?

thanks in advance for your help!

hi,

0TCAIPROV and 0INFOPROV are not authorization objects.

you can make them authorization relevant up to version 6.40

BI 7.0 authorization concept changed ...

0TCAIPROV Authorizations for InfoProvider

0INFOPROV InfoProvider

Transaction : RSSM

This transaction is obsolete.

As of SAP NetWeaver 2004s, a new authorization object will be delivered

in BI that completely replaces the previous concept. It is based on a

completely new infrastructure.

You can get to the new infrastructure with the transaction RSECADMIN in

the SAP Easy Access Menu BI -> Business Explorer -> Authorizations.

By default, the new concept is active and the previous one will no

longer be supported.

The transactions RSSM, RSSMQ, RSSMTRACE and all programs and subprograms

will be replaced by the new concept.

In exception cases, use the previous concept and this transaction and

ensure that the system switches back to the old concept (in SAP

Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP Business

Information Warehouse -> Reporting-relevant Settings -> General

Reporting Settings -> Analysis Authorizations: Select Concept). SA P

recommends that you switch to the new concept.
