APO DP - table /SAPAPO/FCST_LC1 question

I am using APO DP V5.

I am using lifecycle planning in APO DP.

Table /SAPAPO/FCST_LC1 contains assignments for lifecycle planning.

But what is meaning /use of field 'MERKMAL GUID' in this table?

Dear Bob Austin,

SAP uses GUIDs while storing the data in the database. Hence, it will generate a guid while inserting the data and will use this for future reference instead of the actual object.

For example, if you look at the table /SAPAPO/MATKEY there will be two fields MANTR and MATID (GUID of Product). SAP uses this MATID instead of MANTR for storing PO, demand data etc.

I'm familiar with the GUID concept, but what is the meaning of the MERKMAL GUID in the context of the lifecycle planning assignment table? Is it referring to the GUID of the characteristic value combination used in a particular record in this table?
