Help with mass changes in COMMPR01

Can anyone help me with setting products in commpr01 to inactive via an upload program. BDC doesn't seem to work.

If I may explore on my requirement. I have already successfully downloaded all mateirals from R/3 to SRM. I have had no problem with this.

What i want done is a mass change program that sets products to inactive. I tried a bdc program but it wasn't working. I need help from anyone who has tried a customized program refering to COMMPR01 (any sample code would do); or any function module which changes the status of the material from active/inactive.
