Role creation : problem

Hi,

i am creating a role for the query In BW, which i had created newly! that does not have any roles .

i use T code PFCG, to make the role for me!

I could make the two tabs green ( menu and authorizations tabs) but the user tab still remains still red !

it is not allowing the user name to enter into the username filed in the tab!

when i search for my name yes, it is appearing but i could not just enter it as the enter push button is grayed out!

Any suggestions?

Your problem seems like you are not able to update the user master record.

please recheck role creation and generate the profile properly.

and then once the role is created go to SU01 and assign the users.

hi,

go to pfcg

create the role after that

come to authorization their u assign the transaction after that

after that u compare the user which u want to assign the role

after that generate the role after taht save know it will come to green hopefully

Hi Ravi,

goto su01 --> roles tab --> specify role name and save.

Then goto PFUD --> specify role name and execute.This will do user master reconsulation and role will be assigned to you.

Hi Ravi,

I think you are trying to assign the users for the roles in the child systems. First go to parent system and check for the tab roles in the transcation SCUM.If the value for the field name Role assignment is given as Global you cannot assign the users for the roles in the child system. You can do it only through parent system.

yes i did find my role assignment as global!

And what i should i do now? what do you mean by " you can do it only by parent system "

Hi Ravi,

Edited: You need to use SU01 to assign the role to a user, if you're using CUA, you need to assign the role at the CUA Master.
