Dear AIX-experts,
I want to configure the SAP MMC on my WinXP-desktop to start, stop and monitor all of our AIX-based SAP-systems with Release 7.0. Basic Monitoring already works thanks to the nice new sapstartsrv for Unix, but starting and stopping doesn't work because the authentication to the systems doesn't work (I use <SID>adm which is a local OS-user, not a NIS-user).
SAP-note 927637 tells us to configure PAM for AIX correctly. I edited the /etc/pam.conf, but it didn't work. Here's what I added:
========
telnet auth required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
sapstartsrv auth required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
OTHER auth required /usr/lib/security/pam_prohibit
(...)
telnet account required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
sapstartsrv auth required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
OTHER account required /usr/lib/security/pam_prohibit
(...)
telnet session required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
sapstartsrv auth required /usr/lib/security/pam_aix
OTHER session required /usr/lib/security/pam_prohibit
========
Are there any other steps necessary to configure PAM correctly?
Is the service name really sapstartsrv?
Any other clues?
Thanks and kind regards
Christian
Hi Christian,
please check SAP note 1140980. This should solve your problem.
With best regards, Georg
