SAP Solution Manager / Maintenance Optimizer installation

Hello,

Sorry for the newbie question, but I was wondering if someone can let me know, what is the effort of installing an SAP Solution Manager / Maintenance Optimizer?

What are the potential obstacles or risks? How much time it usually takes?

Hi Amit,

I have configured. It took arround 6hr's time.

It will take at max of 1Day. (Only configuration of Maintanance optimizer).

I am quite new the SAP NetWeaver, - could you give me an estimation of how long it may take to install everything? (setting up the router to SAP, prepering the server etc?)

can you give me also an idea how long it usually takes to establish an appropriate solution manager environment, assuming I need to start from zero?

Hi,

If everything fine, it will not take more than 4 days. Take seniors help also.

Take some buffer time also.

Prerequisites:

Important: A SAP ROUTER MUST BE UP AND RUNNING PERFECTLY TO

CONNECT TO SERVICE MARKETPLACE

The following prerequisites must be in place in order to set up the Maintenance

Optimizer

• Support Package Level: Solution Manager Support Package 09 (ST 400

SP09) or

greater must be applied.

• SAP Notes

SAP Note 1024932 (Maintenance Optimizer: Collective Note) contains the most

up-to-date information.

Authorizations and Roles:

In order to initially configure the Maintenance Optimizer, you are required to perform several

activities in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG).

Role SAP_MAINT_OPT_ADMIN
