Hi all
What is mean by legacy systems? pl z explain
hi,
its the system on which currnetly the business is running. Before implementing SAP we consider the existing as a legacy system and migrate all of its data into SAP using various techniques.,
One used to transfer master data is LSMW.
Pl check this link on detailed LSMW procedure.
<a href="http://www.sap-img.com/sap-data-migration.htm">LSMW</a>
As well not all of the existing systems are converted into for various financial and strategic business reasons. We identify them as interfaces and write programs that speak between SAP and Non SAP.
Pl reward if helpful.
Thanks

Hi,
Legacy system is a generic term which means the earlier system prior to implementing a particular software (SAP in our case).
You would transfer all the data (Master as well as Transaction data) from your legacy system. You would extract the data from legacy system in a specified format and upload the same into SAP.
You would use standard programs to upload data if there is one. Else, you would usually use LSMW tool to upload master data and Custom Program (BDC/BAPI) to upload transaction data.
Visit the following link:
Where you would also find more information on BDC and LSMW.

hi
The Existing system on which current system is working, from which the current system will be migrated to SAP system is called as legacy system.

The existing system on which the company is running is called Legacy System. Any system that is running to carry out day to day business process before SAP implementation is called Legacy System.
