Hi,

i try to configure Maintenance Optimizer but when I press a button Operations I can't see the BSP with Wizard - an error:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for XXX

The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist

occured, although i can ping to host X from server (domain name is correct to ip resolved)

Have anyone a similiar problem?

I will grateful for any suggestions.

Hi,

Did u configured SMSY correctly ? Did u given fully qualifyied doamin name in SMSY->create server->technical data

Hi Umesh,

thanks for your answer. I suppose that my problem is independent from server configuration in SMSY. My Solution Manager server can't to achieve a BSP at it self. (message: "Unable to determine IP address from host name for sm.domain.com" at server sm.domain.com, although ping to sm.domain.com from host sm.domain.com run without problem.

Hi,

problem is solved. A reason was a wrong IE settings (proxy) on client.

Hi,

Make sure you have specified the icm/host_name_full parameter with your fully server name.

also check Local DNS Entries if you are using WorkGroup and not a domain controller.
