SAP CCM and SRM-MDM Catalog

We are building SRM 5.5 on database Oracle and OS Windows NT. Do we need to install both SAP CCM and SRM-MDM Catalog? Are these two have the same functions and we only need to install one?

I think either one is good enough. Not necessary to have two.

Hi Liza,

The decision to install both CCM and SRM-MDM is entireley yours, however two catalog installations means two catalog systems to administer, so, based on this and as mantioned to you before, it is sufficient to install one catalog solution.

Based on your requirements you should decide whether the best option for your business is SRM-MDM or SAP CCM.

The MDM catalog solution is more capable of handling larger amounts of data and should not suffer any of the performance constraints of the CCM, it is also presented in a nice GUI developed in C+ which gives a more 'Windows' look to the application. In short though you should check the documentation for both to make sure you can decide which is the best fit for your business needs.
