How to upgrade VC

Hi,

Our System has NetWeaver 04s SPS 10 with EP usage type. Is it possible upgrade visual composer independently from SP10 to SP11, which means upgrade VC without upgrading whole NetWeaver or EP.

If it is possible, what support packages shall I implement.

Dear Dicky,

It's not possible and is not at all supported by SAP.

To update your NW Visual Composer (7.0) you need to apply the latest support package stack available (today is the 12) for the entire environment (means the WebAS & EP)

<u>The reason:</u>

Unlike ABAP Support Packages, Java Support Packages always contain a full delivery of the software components. This means that you only need to import the latest Support Package to update the software. Java Support Packages are delivered in the form of Software Component Archives (SCA).

Also the SP contains new features and compiled classes that are fully dependent of the NW AS, so if you try to run a process that does not can invoke a java class (because do not exist) you will get a problem and SAP will not be able to support you
