while i'm installing Solution manager 4.0 with oracle 10g in linux enterprise 4,after the 23rd phase which is "install instance basics" i recived the following error

Dear George,

did you disable SELinux or is it still enabled? You can check it by calling 'getenforce' as user root:

If you see something like this:

# getenforce
Enforcing

please run 'setenforce 0' to disable SELinux. To diable SELinux permanently, just edit /etc/selinux/config and set SELINUX=permissive or disabled.

Do you have NIS (ypbind) enabled?

In which groups is the oraind user? The user should be in group sapsys, dba and oper (as advised in SAP Note <a href="https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=480266">480266</a>.

no NIS is not enabled

this what the etc\group file has

i think the problem is with the group id 505 pls check

sapinst:x:504:root,indadm

Hi George,

Just a little test: run "<b>chmod 777 /tmp/sapinst*</b>", and retry your installation. Sometimes those errors are caused by a bad permission settings at installation temporal files.

the problem was with the folder rights ,what i did is that i logged in with root and started the installation it worked
