Hi Kadam,
SAP Business Workflow can be used to define business processes that are not yet mapped in the R/3 System. For more check this:

Hi Sai,
Workflow can be used in end to end automation of a business process. Some of the useful tcodes are:
SWDD,PFTC,SBWP,SW01,SWUS,SWUI,SWUE,PPOC,PPOM,PFAC,SWU3,SUD,SWEL ...etc
Best example is Leave Application.
Step1: Employee submits a leave request.
Step2: Manager receives the request and accepts or rejects employee's request.
Step3: Notify employee whether leave request is accepted or rejected.
Hope this helps.
Please reward if useful.
Thanks,
Srinivasa

before creating workflow u should define a organization structure. Then only ur workflow will work..
