Hi guys,
I need to enable Contract Management in my SRM 4.0 sp8 environment, however I have a very basic doubt: should all my items exist in R3 ? Because I'm using CCM 1.0 and most of the items do not exist in R3.

Not necessary... By using a centralized purchasing platform, departments can
still carry out the individual procurement processes locally but they can now purchase the items they need on the basis of the collectively negotiated contracts. This ensures that centrally negotiated contracts actually match local requirements.
SAP NetWeaver Portal therefore plays a key role; lead buyers can use the component to create documents such as contracts, items, and price conditions, which can then be centrally accessed.
