Hello,
We recently had to make a change to a track (password and domain change), and after saving all of our ESS DCs (in SAP_ESS SC) are broken. We have also made mods to some of the ESS components and they are deployed in the DEV and CONS systems. How do you go about rebuilding the DCs (including the customized ones) in the ESS SC without overwriting the customized code?
Thanks in advance!!
Hello David,
sounds like you forgot to restore the system state after saving the track in CMS?
(See /people/david.beisert2/blog/2007/05/30/common-pitfalls-using-the-nwdi point 1)
If you modify a track CMS will delete and recreate the buildspaces. After that there are no archives imported into the buildspace and everything will be broken until you "Restore system state" which will reimport all archives into the buildspace.
Regards,
Marc
P.S.: Restore system state will not overwrite source changes. It will only import archives into CBS.
