hi,
1. I have a doubt, while doing pricing procedure why we give the procedure names starting with series "Z" and "Y".
2. what is Item relevance for delivery? (in item catagories).
Hi,
It is recommended by SAP so that while upgadation it is easy to locate the Z and Y and transport or if you face any problem with what is non standard, then it is easy to trace for SAP if they are supporting you else for yourself also.
Delivery relavance is specially for text items if you want those text items to be copied in delivey from order.

Hi,
Why we give names with z and y alphabets.
1. it will differentiate with sap standard tables.
2. when u are update sap version, z and y tables will not deleted or modified or updated.
3. its allways advisable to maintain user specified tables as z or y tables.
Item relavant for delivery?
1. if we check here then only the material is relavant for delivery.
for ex: service items will not relavant for delivery, so that we haven't maintain the field for service items.
Rewards points if helpful.

Hi Shaik,
Not only for Pricing Procedure, for any userdefined Transactions or any procedures we want to create we have to use the Alphabets Z or Y in the starting.
It has advantages like..
1. To identify that its user defined one, not part of the Standard SAP
2. The Major advantage is when the system is going to upgrade (eg. 4.6c to 4.7, or 4.7 to 6.0) while any upgradations takes place then the system only consider the standard code and the procedures or transactions which starts with Z or Y. So, we must mention Z or Y for our own defined procedure in SAP.
In Practicing time we can give any thing but if we are working on client systems then we must follow this rule.
Hope this give you some idea
REWARD IF HELPFUL

1. The development which do not come as standard SAP, but configured, customized or developed start with Y & Z
2. Item relevance for Delivery:
Indicates whether a text or value item is relevant during delivery processing.
Use
The item itself is not delivered, but serves only for information purposes.
Example
For example, you can refer to a text item as relevant for delivery so that the system copies it from a sales order into a delivery note.

Suppose in future if there is a problem in SAP system and if you get in touch with SAP-AG to solve the problem. They sometimes format some tables. And the tables with Y and Z are never touched as thet have designated as user defined tables.
Hope it answers your question.

Ak
